The long, hot days of summer get even hotter in the State of Illinois, United States of America, as the 5th most populated state becomes densely packed up with the arrival of one of the finest independent film festivals the continent of North America has to offer, in the village of Palatine of Cook County; the Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival.
No Profit, Just Films
Along with the Streetfest and the Fourth of July Celebrations, the summer for the people of Palatine gets only better as the weeklong film festival of Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival comes to town and presents some of the most beautiful and brilliant pieces of films for families and friends to enjoy. Unlike most of the film festivals out there, the Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to presenting rare, compelling and innovative independent films and seeking out bright and creative young minds who have a knack for filmmaking.
First Wednesdays!
Along with hosting an annual film festival every July, the organization also hosts a year round program called the Blue Whiskey Cinema Series in which new independent films along with some of the most breathtaking classic films, such as the Oscar award winning film “All The President’s Men” are screened. This event takes place at the Star Cinema Grill on the first Wednesday of every month.
The Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival receives a ton of various indie films of which over 40 are chosen and screened at the festival in venues such as the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center over the 7 day period. Film categories include:
- Feature Films
- Narrative Films
- Short Films
- Documentaries
- Music Videos
- Pilots (In case of series)
Awards are presented to films in their respective categories by a group of judges who experience the film first hand along with the audience, assessing every aspect of the audovisual work.
