Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) is one of the most popular film event in the United States that helps filmmakers connect and reach out to the broadest possible audience, while giving the movie-lovers a memorable international film experience. TFF is well known for being a sundry international film festival that emerges esteemed, as well as newbie film producers and directors from all around the globe and aids them to establish new contacts in the industry.

Neighbourhood of Creative Talent

After the terrorist attacks in 2001, Robert De Niro, Craig HatKoff and Jane Rosenthal decided to launch the Tribeca Film Institute in 2002, to reinvigorate the people in Manhattan. Initially, the number of attendees for the Tribeca Film Festival was very low, but the founders of the festival did not lose hope; with the help of 1,300 volunteers and after only 120 days of planning, the opening festival made its first steps towards becoming a well-known success ,now giving the film community and general civilians the experience of world class films.

To increase the number of attendees, Robert De Niro bought a theatre nearby and named it Tribeca Cinema. Since then, TFF has not have had to look back as the attendance has risen drastically, with over three million people attending the festival each year, including a number celebrities.

Getting Stronger

Today, Tribeca Film Festival celebrates New York as a crucial film-making and artistic hub, having more than 8,600 submissions and above 1,500 screenings annually; the numbers keep on rising as the festival keeps gaining popularity, primarily because of the submission of diverse films. Most of the films screened are independent films, giving the novice producers, directors and actors a chance to shine in front of the renowned celebrities, mostly via receiving awards that are given in the following categories:

The festival has managed to gather talents from all over the world, and it has given people the chance to see the works of creative talents from over 80 countries and brought many skilled artists who were previously unknown into the spotlight.
